Eisenkot on West Bank riots: 'Must deal with firm hand'; right-wing minister: 'Zionism? This is anarchy'

|
Politicians reacted to last night's riots in Benjamin where right-wing activists attempted to break into an IDF base. MK Gadi Eisenkot (State Camp) said that "the violence by a group of Jewish criminals requires handling with a firm hand for harming those who protect the residents. Those who divided the Civil Administration to Smotrich and the Shai district to Ben Gvir sowed the wind in the coalition agreements, and today unfortunately we are all reaping the whirlwind." Immigration and Absorption Minister Ofir Sofer from the Religious Zionism party wrote on X that "whoever attacks the IDF harms the settlements and undermines Israel's unity. This is not Zionism - this is anarchy."
