Iran considered attacking American targets in Europe in the event that U.S. President Donald Trump decides on escalation. This was reported by the Financial Times, citing sources close to the regime in Tehran. Two of the sources said that Tehran examined the possibility of attacking targets in the eastern part of the continent, such as Bulgaria, which just last month approved the use of its airfield for American refueling aircraft. Another source said that Cyprus, where the British base on its territory was attacked by drones in March, could also be included again in the Iranian target bank.
