IDF Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir has decided to cancel the construction of the security facility in Ein Fit in the Golan Heights, after it was determined that the base "would not provide an optimal response to the IDF's operational needs, due in part to the geographic dispersion of training facilities and the versatility of the facility." It was further noted that the decision "is based on an analysis of ground forces activity in the coming years - in training and border defense missions, which is expected to change significantly following the war." The budget allocated for the security facility will be redirected to establish alternative training facilities that "will match the training framework currently being developed in the IDF."
