Due to the Ebola outbreak, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security has issued an exceptional order requiring all flights arriving in the country carrying passengers who have been in Congo, Uganda or South Sudan during the past 21 days to land only at Washington Dulles International Airport. The new directive was established following a rapid outbreak of the virus in Africa and includes temperature checks, strict medical screening and contact tracing of arriving passengers. The move comes after the identification of 51 confirmed cases of the Bundibugyo strain, along with 139 suspected deaths and nearly 600 cases under investigation and monitored by health authorities.
