Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu issued a message of condolence following the death of three Givati Brigade fighters in an explosion at a bomb site in Gaza. In his message, he wrote: "On behalf of all Israeli citizens, my wife and I send our heartfelt condolences to the families of our heroic fighters Staff Sergeant Lior Steinberg, Staff Sergeant Ofek Berhana and Staff Sergeant Omer van Gelder, who fell in Gaza in the campaign to defeat Hamas and free our hostages. All our hearts ache with the families in this most terrible moment."
