US attorney who oversaw Trump-initiated investigations resigns from position

|
The senior federal prosecutor in Florida, Jason Coley, who was in charge of investigations into those who previously led criminal investigations against U.S. President Donald Trump, announced his resignation. This is the second resignation from the top ranks of the U.S. Justice Department within two days, following the Republican defeat in the midterm elections. Coley's office investigated, among other things, the circumstances of the investigation into the classified documents case and the investigation regarding ties between Trump's campaign and Russia in 2016, but the investigations have not yielded significant results so far. The investigation focused, among others, on senior officials from the former Barack Obama administration, including CIA Director John Brennan.
