U.S. President Donald Trump announced that over the past two days, Washington and Tehran have been "conducting very good and beneficial talks regarding the cessation of hostilities in the Middle East." According to the president, "Based on the tone of the in-depth, detailed and constructive talks, which will continue throughout the week, I have instructed the War Department to postpone any attack on power plants and energy infrastructure for five days – contingent on the success of the meetings and discussions."
