Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, who participated in the meeting between US President Donald Trump and Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa at the White House, said that during his talks with officials in Washington, they discussed developments in the Gaza Strip, among other topics. Fidan told Turkish media that he also met with his Syrian counterpart, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Vice President JD Vance, Special Envoy Steve Whitcoff and the US envoy to Lebanon and Syria Tom Burke. According to him, "The US understands the need for Syria to remain united."
