IAEA: We found uranium remnants in Syria - linked to reactor Israel destroyed in 2007

|
The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has found uranium remnants in Syria, linked to the nuclear reactor destroyed by Israel in 2007. The agency informed its member states in a report obtained by Reuters news agency, as part of an investigation aimed at proving that the destroyed structure was indeed an undeclared nuclear reactor in the Deir ez-Zor region of northeastern Syria. Already in 2011, the IAEA concluded that it was "very likely" that the structure was a secretly built reactor that Damascus should have declared to the agency, and since then the IAEA has been trying to reach a final conclusion on the matter.
