Levin against Herzog: 'Yitzhak Amit not legally elected as Supreme Court president, Baharav-Miara removed'

|
Justice Minister Yariv Levin attacked President Isaac Herzog, who criticized the exclusion of the Supreme Court president and the government's legal adviser from U.S. President's speech in the Knesset, claiming that "Judge Yitzhak Amit was not legally elected as the president of the Supreme Court. Attorney Baharav-Miara was legally removed by a unanimous decision of the government from the position of legal adviser to the government. Unity and statesmanship are indeed important values. However, forceful and illegal conduct by the judicial authority and systematic trampling of the people's choice are the opposite of unity and statesmanship."
