Labor dispute declared in aviation sector over Wizz Air's planned Israel base

|
The Histadrut labor federation has declared a sectoral labor dispute in the aviation industry following plans to establish a Wizz Air operational base in Israel, claiming it was done 'without any consultation, cooperation or coordination with the workers and their representatives.' According to the Histadrut, this is 'a step that constitutes a direct threat to their job security and the stability of the entire sector.' The labor dispute will affect more than 11,000 employees at the airlines El Al, Arkia, Israir and Air Haifa, as well as the Israel Airports Authority, which operates Ben Gurion, Ramon and Haifa airports.
