U.S. President Donald Trump wrote an opinion piece published in the Wall Street Journal titled "My Tariffs Brought America Back." In the article, he wrote that "When I imposed historic tariffs on almost all foreign countries last April, critics said my policy would cause global economic collapse. Instead, it created an American economic miracle, and we're rapidly building the greatest economy in world history—and other countries are doing great too!" According to him, "Just over a year ago we were a 'dead' nation. Today we are the 'hottest' nation in the world!"
