Netanyahu to High Court: Appoint Shin Bet chief urgently, cancel Attorney General's opinion

|
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu submitted a response to the High Court of Justice regarding a petition requesting the cancellation of Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara's legal opinion, which prohibited him from appointing the next Shin Bet chief. Netanyahu responded to the Attorney General's request for an extension to respond to the petition, arguing that her request should not be granted: "The Prime Minister is managing the war with Iran and is apparently busier than the Attorney General." Netanyahu wrote to the judges that accepting the petition to cancel the Attorney General's opinion "is necessary and even essential as soon as possible and without any further delay."
