Germany: Train traffic halted nationwide due to communications system failure

|
Germany's national railway company, Deutsche Bahn, announced that train traffic was halted overnight across the country following a nationwide failure in the GSM-R digital communications system, which is used for internal communication on the railway network. It is currently unknown what caused the failure, how many trains were affected and when service will resume. Deutsche Bahn stated that technicians are working to fix the failure and that "we are now trying to bring the trains to stations so passengers can disembark."
