The High Court of Justice accepted the petition filed by MK Ahmad Tibi against National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir regarding the visitation protocol for Knesset members with security prisoners. That arrangement, known as the "faction protocol," stipulated that only one representative from each Knesset faction is allowed to submit a request for a meeting. The High Court, in a two-to-one majority decision, ruled that the protocol must be canceled. At the same time, it rejected MK Tibi's individual request to meet with terrorist Marwan Barghouti. "The petitioner's request was considered on its merits by security officials according to the circumstances that prevailed at the time of its submission," the ruling stated.
