Iranian Official: No Need to Extend Ceasefire with US, It Never Started

|
An Iranian official said as the 60-day ceasefire period set in the memorandum of understanding nears its end that "there are no discussions with the United States regarding an extension." The official, who spoke with Reuters, added: "From Iran's perspective, there is no start date for the ceasefire, so there is nothing to extend. The United States violated the agreement and withdrew from it. One of the issues that is being discussed is the US return to the memorandum of understanding and defining timelines for implementing the commitments – something on which no progress has been made."
