Levin proposes retired judge to oversee Military Advocate General investigation: 'No civil servant meets the criteria'

|
Justice Minister Yariv Levin announced his intention to appoint retired district court judge Yosef Ben Hamo to oversee the investigation of the Military Advocate General. "I also examined the possibility of appointing a current civil servant, but this proved impossible due to significant difficulties in finding a serving civil servant with seniority, legal knowledge and experience in relevant fields, who has no professional or managerial subordination to the government legal advisory system and the State Prosecutor's Office, is not in close working relations with them, and is willing to take on the role," the statement said.
