The IDF revealed new details about Operation "Red South" which preceded the recovery of the fallen soldier Staff Sergeant Oron Shaul. According to the IDF and Shin Bet, during the interrogation of detainees, initial information was received about a "civilian property" in the Gaza Strip where Shaul was held. Thanks to this intelligence, Israel decided to launch a dedicated operation carried out by the General Staff Reconnaissance Unit (Sayeret Matkal), which led to the arrest of a "key figure" who lived at that property.
