Police yesterday arrested a 65-year-old resident of Gush Halav, a council employee in the north, on suspicion of installing a listening device in the authority head's office. In recent weeks, a complaint was received from a local authority in northern Israel regarding suspicion of installing a covert listening device in the council's offices. Upon receiving the complaint, a covert investigation was opened during which investigators located various findings that strengthened the suspicion. Yesterday, officers raided the council's offices and arrested the suspect, in whose possession evidence linking him to the act was found. Police will request today to extend his detention at the Tiberias Magistrate's Court.
