Attorney General opposes bill allowing new governments to replace senior public service officials

|
Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara strongly opposes the bill that would allow each incoming government to replace senior officials in the public service, including the IDF Chief of Staff, heads of the Shin Bet and Mossad, Police Commissioner and Attorney General, as learned by Ynet. In her legal opinion, the Attorney General wrote that "the bill will lead to complete politicization of the most senior positions in public service and transform these positions into trust appointments of government members."
