Gadi Eisenkot, leader of the Yashar! party, addressed a panel at Tel Aviv University regarding the support expressed by US President Donald Trump for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ahead of the elections. He said: "I have great appreciation for the US President, who made a significant contribution to Israel's security and to completing the hostage deal. At the same time, the State of Israel is a democratic state, and only Israeli citizens will decide who will be prime minister and who will form the government. I am convinced that in nine days, the Zionist, statist, serving majority will win these elections, and the US government will know how to work with any government elected in Israel."
