The prosecution filed an indictment with the Be'er Sheva District Court against a 26-year-old man from Ashdod who assaulted his infant daughter. According to the indictment, the infant was evacuated last July to Assuta Hospital in Ashdod in serious condition, suffering from broken ribs and pulmonary hemorrhaging. She was ventilated and sedated for about five days. The defendant and his 21-year-old wife were arrested on suspicion of assaulting a helpless person, causing bodily harm and physical abuse of a helpless person. The mother was released from custody.
