The Austrian government told the AFP news agency that since the start of the war, it has received several requests from the United States to fly military aircraft in its airspace but refused them all. According to a spokesman for the Austrian Defense Ministry, the reason is Austria's neutrality, and it is not exceptional: "Whenever a country involved in a war is concerned, the request is denied."
