The Ministry of Education has instructed district managers to conduct immediate hearings for organizers of the teachers' sick-out protest. Ministry policy states that when teachers and kindergarten staff are identified as protest organizers who encourage others to engage in illegal activities by using sick leave, they will be summoned for a hearing before the district manager. The ministry added that there will be no compromises and that they will deduct pay from teachers who call in sick as part of the protest.
