The Finance Ministry stated during a Knesset Finance Committee discussion that continuing the fighting at its current intensity is expected to exceed the budget within weeks. Deputy Budget Director Tamar Levy-Boneh noted that the 'budget box' of 4.2 billion shekels 'will likely be required in full,' and that the military and defense establishment are making commitments 'at a high rate that will make it difficult to stay within budget frameworks.' Conversely, it was presented that the defense establishment estimates that aside from the costs of 'Operation Gideon's Chariots,' they are working within the defined budget. Knesset members criticized the lack of clear economic forecasts and demanded precise data.
