Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke at the memorial ceremony for Israel's fallen soldiers at Yad LeBanim in Jerusalem, saying "We received a historic opportunity to renew our national independence and I tell you, we will not get another opportunity, therefore we must guard the State of Israel with utmost vigilance." According to him, "We learned that the screen generation, the TikTok generation as they called them, knows how to step away from screens and connect with reality." Netanyahu added: "IDF servicemembers are revealing themselves in their full glory. They are sacrificing themselves to create the conditions for returning our hostages." He noted: "We all understand who we are fighting against and what for."
