While Detained in The Hague: Former Philippines President Wins Election in His Hometown

|
Former Philippines President Rodrigo Duterte has almost certainly won the mayoral election in his hometown, despite being detained at the International Criminal Court in The Hague for crimes against humanity. Duterte was arrested about two months ago at Manila's airport at The Hague's request - as part of an investigation into thousands of extrajudicial deaths of suspected drug traffickers during his presidency. So far, he has received 80% of the votes in the Davao city mayoral election.
