Soroka Hospital Director Dr. Shlomi Kodesh addressed the direct hit at the facility during the Iranian missile barrage, stating that "a missile hit the surgical hospitalization building. This is a relatively old building that was evacuated from departments. The building was severely damaged and there is extensive damage to additional buildings as a result of the blast. All staff were in protected areas." According to him, "All the injured are in mild condition as a result of the blast. The building is fit only for life-saving cases. Forces are mapping the site."
