U.S. President Donald Trump addressed recent strikes in Iran at an event in the White House Rose Garden, saying that "we destroyed a lot." According to him, the U.S. is operating in the war "to help the Middle East, Israel and also ourselves," and claimed that Iran had sought "to destroy Israel" and subsequently threaten Europe and the United States as well. Trump added that his country "now controls the Strait of Hormuz" and that many oil tankers pass through it. Referring to Iran's situation, he said: "So far, they have done very little to stop it. Their situation is not good at all, it's only a matter of time."
