Dozens of bereaved families from the Din V'Tzedek Forum and the Gevura Forum gathered in a tent in Jerusalem to demand the establishment of a 'national' commission of inquiry. Orly Cohen, mother of Amit who was murdered in the safe room in Re'im, said in the families' statement at the tent: "A commission of inquiry cannot be established that is called a 'state' commission that will be headed by a Supreme Court justice who is at the heart of the social controversy and has lost widespread public trust. The role of the court that gave tailwinds to our enemies for years must be investigated. We represent hundreds of families of October 7 victims who do not trust a state commission of inquiry led by Supreme Court justices who will be the judge and jury of those who abandoned our security."
