IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir said at the ceremony for the acquisition of the INS Dragon submarine that "even in these days, our eyes are open to what is happening in Iran and its proxies - the Iranian regime is hurt and wounded but does not learn to change its intentions. The acquisition of the submarine is one of the main force build-up moves of the IDF. With the acquisition of the submarine, the naval arm reaches an improved maritime posture and new peaks in its capabilities and operational power: more stealthy, farther-reaching, deeper and more lethal."
