Rishon Lezion Mayor Raz Kinstlich announced that the source of the pungent odor felt in Rishon Lezion, about which many residents complained, has been located. Kinstlich wrote on his Facebook account that 'this is a serious sanitary hazard of fuel and oil waste that was spilled into a sewer manhole at a remote location in the western part of the city.' According to him, in the coming days the Ministry of Environmental Protection and the municipality will conduct special flushing operations to address the source of the stench and an investigation has been opened to locate whoever dumped the waste.
