Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office issued an unusual statement of support for the Lebanese government's actions against Hezbollah, stating that "Israel appreciates the significant step taken by the Lebanese government, led by President Aoun and Prime Minister Salam. The ministerial council's decision to work toward disarming Hezbollah by the end of 2025 was a significant decision." The office added: "Israel is ready to support Lebanon and work together toward a more secure and stable future. If Lebanese security forces take steps to disarm Hezbollah, Israel will take reciprocal measures, including a gradual reduction of IDF presence in coordination with the United States."
