The Department for the Investigation of Police Officers yesterday filed an indictment at the Tel Aviv Magistrate's Court against a police officer for arresting a foreign citizen without cause and having sexual relations with her while exploiting his position. According to the indictment, about a year ago the officer arrived at her apartment, arrested her without reason and before releasing her gave her his phone number to initiate a sexual relationship with her. The indictment further states that the officer came to her apartment on three different occasions, and on one of them had sexual relations with her. Later in the relationship, he told her he would help her collect money from an acquaintance if they had sex again. The indictment charges him with abuse of authority and fraud and breach of trust.
