Defense Minister Israel Katz and Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich have decided to define the threat of Palestinian waste burning in Judea and Samaria as a threat to national security, following an emergency discussion with local authority heads. Additionally, they announced the preparation of a "national emergency plan." Among the measures decided upon: advancing administrative tools through military orders for permanent confiscation and seizure of Palestinian waste trucks; allocating unlimited budgets to recruit contractors and heavy machinery from the private sector for firefighting and waste removal; aggressive inter-organizational enforcement activities; and establishing a waste disposal site in the central West Bank.
