UN: 'More than half of Syria's population faces food insecurity'

The UN World Food Programme updated that more than half of Syria's population is in a state of food insecurity, and nearly three million residents may face severe hunger. According to a Syrian source, the country needs to import 2.55 million tons of wheat this year following severe droughts, after managing to supply only 373,500 tons from local production.
