The 'Amichai Israel' party, led by Ofer Winter, responded to Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich's remarks at Ynet and Yedioth Ahronoth's 'Time for Decision: Democracy and Society' conference, held in partnership with the Israel Democracy Institute, in which he said that Winter speaks on behalf of the public despite 'hovering around the electoral threshold.' Amichai Israel stated that 'the people demand new, clean right-wing leadership that is not tainted by the October 7 failure. We are committed to bringing about real integration of Haredim into the IDF and giving full backing to the fighters, without being willing to serve as a political pawn for Moshe Gafni and Yitzhak Goldknopf at the expense of those serving, as has been the case in the current government.'
