CENTCOM: 53 ships diverted under Iran blockade, 2 disabled and 2 more boarded

|
U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) reported that as of yesterday, American forces have diverted 53 commercial vessels from their routes as part of enforcing the naval blockade on Iran, disabled two ships and boarded two others. It was also reported that the U.S. military has allowed more than 30 vessels to pass through the blockade for the purpose of delivering humanitarian aid. It should be noted that this is not the first time CENTCOM has announced it has allowed vessels to pass through the blockade for the purpose of delivering humanitarian aid. The statement also said that American sailors continue to perform maintenance work on F/A-18E Super Hornet aircraft aboard the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln to maintain force readiness for blockade enforcement.
