The Executive Council of Australian Jewry (ECAJ) sent a letter to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu expressing the Jewish community's concern about the exchange of accusations between the leaders of the two countries. "The deterioration in diplomatic relations between two countries we love causes us grief and pain - we call on you to conduct policy in an acceptable manner and not try to impress through the media. Australia and Israel are mature democracies and their governments should act accordingly," the statement said.
