Police in Indian Kashmir reported that five people were killed as a result of Pakistani attacks in the Jammu region. The Indian army stated that 'Pakistan continues its blatant escalation through drone attacks and other ammunition use along our western border. Their plans will be thwarted.' Meanwhile, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio spoke with Pakistani Army Chief General Asim Munir and called on Pakistan and India to find ways to reduce escalation. A State Department spokesperson said this, adding that Rubio also offered American assistance in 'initiating constructive talks to prevent future conflicts.'
