Despite losing primary to Mamdani: Cuomo to run independently for New York City mayor

|
Andrew Cuomo will continue his campaign for New York City mayor in the November elections as an independent candidate, despite losing this week in the Democratic Party primary. Cuomo's campaign confirmed to Ynet that he is not withdrawing, but it has not yet been decided whether he will run an active campaign. The race is expected to include four additional candidates: Zohran Mamdani, who defeated Cuomo in the primary, Mayor Eric Adams who will also run as an independent candidate, former federal prosecutor Jim Walden and Republican Curtis Sliwa.
