The Israeli Air Force destroyed 16 aircraft belonging to the Revolutionary Guards' Quds Force overnight at Mehrabad Airport in Tehran, which according to the IDF were used by the Iranians to transfer weapons to Hezbollah. According to the military, the airport was "a central hub for arming and financing the regime's terror proxies in the Middle East." An IDF spokesperson said: "Aircraft loaded with weapons and cash took off numerous times from the airport and landed across the Middle East for use by the regime's proxies. In addition, several Iranian fighter jets that threatened Israeli Air Force aircraft operating in Iranian airspace were attacked."
