Report: Senior US official warns of insufficient naval forces to defend Israel from missile attacks

|
Alexus Grynkewich, head of U.S. European Command (EUCOM), warned the Pentagon this week that he does not have sufficient naval forces to continue defending Israel from ballistic missile attacks. Sources told The Washington Post that Grynkewich's warning was sent in writing to senior Pentagon officials. According to them, Grynkewich stated that without an additional destroyer, he would be forced to choose between defending the U.S. and defending Israel. A U.S. defense official said Grynkewich's warning is consistent with past appeals by senior military generals to the Pentagon.
