Politicians in the opposition bloc responded to last night's riot by hundreds of ultra-Orthodox protesters in Modi'in following a failed attempt by military police to arrest a deserter. Yisrael Beiteinu chairman Avigdor Liberman stated: "Once again, Netanyahu's partners are rioting, attacking soldiers and police who came to arrest a deserter in Modi'in, and smuggling him away under the cover of a mob shouting 'Nazis' at them and demanding the 'abductee' be released." Yashar party chairman Gadi Eisenkot added: "This is the same dangerous worldview that seeks to turn draft evasion into a norm and those who fulfill their duty to the state into suckers."
