Hundreds of kindergarten teachers reported being ill to local authorities and took sick leave as part of an attempt to circumvent the regional labor court's injunction against protests and strikes by the Teachers Union. The teachers announced they would not open kindergartens this morning, following a 3.3% salary cut starting April and after negotiations between the Teachers Union and the Treasury collapsed. Meanwhile, groups of teachers are organizing to take similar action as soon as this coming Sunday.
