High Court orders petition against Pegasus committee dismissed following members' resignation

|
The Supreme Court ordered the dismissal of a petition against the government investigative committee on the use of Pegasus spyware, which sought, among other things, to annul decisions by Justice Minister Yariv Levin regarding its establishment. The ruling noted that despite the court's prolonged efforts to advance a compromise arrangement that would allow the committee to operate while providing access only to closed files—as opposed to ongoing cases whose management could be harmed as a result of the committee's work—its members announced their resignation. Under these circumstances, it was determined that the need for further examination of the petition has become moot, and therefore it should be dismissed.
