Police have gathered all relevant materials regarding the religious ruling issued by Rabbi Dov Lior, a senior figure in religious Zionism considered part of the Haredi-Leumi stream, which permits settlers to harvest olives in Palestinian groves in Judea and Samaria. The materials have been transferred to the Investigations Division for review, and an examination is currently underway while police await approval from the State Attorney's Office to open an investigation on suspicion of incitement. After he published the ruling, amid numerous incidents of nationalist crime, the IDF distanced itself from it and a security official told Ynet: 'The letter encourages violent offenses, thefts, incitement and friction that inflames the area.'
