|
The military court sentenced a soldier in regular service who was convicted in the abuse case in the 'Hetz' unit, and as part of a plea deal, he was sentenced to 60 days in prison, suspended sentence, and demotion to the rank of private, the IDF spokesperson announced. This is the first settlement in the case that took place last February, in which he, along with others, committed acts of abuse against several new soldiers who joined his unit. "The IDF views such incidents with great severity and will continue to act resolutely to ensure the safety and welfare of all service members," the statement said.
