Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich has decided to appoint Haim Martin as Israel's economic attaché in Washington. This follows the recommendation of the search committee on the final candidates for this key position abroad. Israel's economic attaché in Washington is the Treasury Ministry's representative in the United States, responsible for advancing economic relations with the administration there, particularly with the U.S. Treasury Department. Martin previously served as the Economy Ministry's representative in Beijing and held several senior positions in the pharmaceutical and venture capital sectors in Israel. Martin will replace Noah Hacker, who is completing a four-year term in the position. The appointment requires government approval.
