The Ministerial Committee for Reserve Service approved the principles for the compensation and recognition plan for the reserve system for 2026, totaling 6.2 billion shekels. The plan will be submitted for government approval in the coming week. According to the agreement between Defense Minister Israel Katz, who chairs the committee, and Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich, the scope of reserve duty in 2026 will stand at an average of 40,000 reserve days per day. The decision maintains the compensations given to reserve soldiers in 2025, including prioritization for combat soldiers and commanders.
